An energy sector organisation in Utrecht province needs an engineering director. You set the direction of engineering across the whole organisation and work closely with the CIO, the CDO and the COO. You coach engineers, architects and tech leads.

What you will do:

• Develop an engineering vision and strategy
• Set the direction for technology, architecture and platform development
• Build an engineering leadership model and coach engineers, architects and tech leads
• Act as business owner of the central IT platform
• Drive innovation, including AI, and align engineering, data and security

What you bring:

• Academic level of work and thinking
• At least 10 years in software engineering, architecture and technology
• At least 5 years in senior engineering leadership
• Experience with agile and SAFe organisations and complex stakeholder settings
• Strong knowledge of cloud, platform engineering, data and security
• A proven record of building engineering organisations and culture
• High level of Dutch
