Oracle and Postgres Database Specialist, Infrastructure

Database specialist for Oracle and Postgres environments in an infrastructure team serving public sector clients.

An IT services firm in South Holland has an infrastructure team for public sector clients in transport, road, rail, gas and water. For that team it is hiring an Oracle database specialist. You manage environments that must always be available, and you share your knowledge with the team.

What you will do:

• Monitor the performance, security and backups of Oracle database environments.
• Solve problems and recover data.
• Plan capacity and assess database server hardware.
• Handle installation, configuration, design and data migration.
• Manage zero-downtime infrastructures and set up Oracle DB environments (again) with tooling.
• Contribute to projects that need Oracle knowledge.

What you bring:

• Preferably an ICT degree at bachelor's or master's level, at least vocational level 4.
• Proven knowledge of Oracle and Postgres databases.
• Preferably hands-on experience with the latest Oracle products.
• Experience with automation through scripting or Ansible.
• Fluent Dutch and willingness to undergo pre-employment screening.
