Senior Business Controller
Our client, a multinational FMCG company with European headquarters in Amsterdam, is seeking a Senior Business Controller to act as a strategic finance partner to the commercial leadership team.
In this role, you will provide financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights that directly influence commercial strategy. You will be embedded within the business, combining deep financial expertise with commercial acumen to drive performance improvement across multiple European markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and rolling forecasts for the commercial division
- Partner with commercial directors to analyze revenue, margin, and promotional effectiveness
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the European commercial organization
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate new product launches, pricing strategies, and market expansion scenarios
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and track realization of savings initiatives
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management and the board
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (RC/CMA certification is a plus)
- 6+ years of experience in business controlling or FP&A, preferably in FMCG or consumer goods
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; experience with SAP or Oracle ERP
- Strong analytical capabilities combined with a commercial mindset
- Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is preferred
