Senior Accountant
Our client, an international technology company with a European hub in Amsterdam, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the general ledger and lead the month-end close process for the Dutch entity.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of financial records, ensuring compliance with Dutch GAAP and group reporting requirements. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and act as the main point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and intercompany reconciliations
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with Dutch GAAP
- Handle VAT, corporate income tax, and other regulatory filings, coordinating with external tax advisors
- Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows and internal controls
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of experience in a general accounting or senior bookkeeping role
- Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Exact Online, or SAP
- Accurate, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines; fluent in English, Dutch is preferred
