Performance Test Engineer
Our client, a logistics technology company operating across the Randstad, is seeking a Performance Test Engineer to ensure their platform can handle growing transaction volumes reliably and efficiently.
In this specialist role, you will design, execute, and analyze performance tests across the full application stack. You will work closely with development and infrastructure teams to identify bottlenecks, validate capacity plans, and ensure the platform meets its SLA targets under peak load conditions.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and execute load, stress, endurance, and spike tests for web applications and APIs
- Build and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as Gatling, k6, or JMeter
- Analyze test results, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations to development teams
- Establish performance baselines and trend reporting to detect regressions early
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on capacity planning and auto-scaling validation
- Create and maintain performance test environments that accurately represent production
Requirements:
- 4+ years of dedicated performance testing experience
- Strong knowledge of at least two performance testing tools (Gatling, JMeter, k6, Locust)
- Understanding of application architectures, databases, message queues, and network behavior under load
- Experience with APM tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics
- Analytical mindset with the ability to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
