Lead Cloud Engineer
Our client, a leading fintech company in the Randstad area, is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer to shape and execute the cloud strategy across AWS and Azure environments.
As Lead Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the full cloud platform landscape, guiding a team of five engineers while remaining hands-on with infrastructure-as-code and architecture decisions.
- Design and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency
- Lead the migration of legacy on-premise workloads to cloud-native architectures using containerization and serverless patterns
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, network segmentation, and encryption standards
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures using tools such as Datadog or CloudWatch
- Mentor and coach platform engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with product teams to define SLAs and ensure platform reliability targets are met
- Minimum 7 years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role
- Deep expertise in AWS or Azure, with working knowledge of the other; relevant certifications are a plus
- Strong experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
