Director Finance & Operations

Our client, a growing professional services firm based in Amsterdam, is seeking a Director Finance & Operations to join the management team and take full responsibility for the non-revenue functions of the business.

This is a broad leadership role encompassing finance, HR, facilities, and operational processes. You will be the operational backbone of the organization, ensuring the business infrastructure scales effectively as the firm expands into new European markets.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the finance function, including financial planning, reporting, cash management, and external audit coordination
• Manage HR operations covering recruitment support, compensation and benefits, and employment compliance across jurisdictions
• Oversee office management, procurement, and vendor relationships
• Develop and implement operational processes and systems to support growth from 80 to 150+ professionals
• Serve as a member of the management team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making
• Manage relationships with banks, legal counsel, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years in a finance or operations leadership role
• Experience in professional services, consulting, or a similar knowledge-intensive environment
• Strong financial acumen with hands-on FP&A and reporting capabilities
• Proven ability to build and manage cross-functional teams
• Fluent in Dutch and English; additional European languages are a plus
