Data Architect

Our client, a large energy company in Zuid-Holland, is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of the enterprise data platform supporting operational and analytical workloads.

You will define the data architecture strategy across a hybrid landscape of on-premise systems and cloud services. This is a high-impact role with direct influence on how the organization leverages data for decision-making, regulatory compliance, and new product development.

Key responsibilities:

• Design the target data architecture, covering data ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption layers
• Define data modeling standards, governance policies, and metadata management practices
• Architect data pipelines and integration patterns using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Establish master data management and data quality frameworks to ensure reliable reporting
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where they deliver measurable business value

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles
• Deep knowledge of modern data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud data warehouses
• Experience with data modeling (dimensional, Data Vault) and ETL/ELT pipeline design
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (Collibra, Purview, or similar)
• Excellent stakeholder management skills; fluent in Dutch and English
