Cloud Security Engineer
Our client, a healthcare technology provider based near Utrecht, is searching for a Cloud Security Engineer to embed security practices into their Azure cloud platform and DevOps workflows.
This is a pivotal role for someone who understands both cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity. You will work closely with DevOps, application, and compliance teams to ensure the platform meets stringent healthcare data protection requirements while enabling fast and safe software delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud security controls in Azure, including identity management, network policies, and data encryption
- Integrate security scanning into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Snyk, Trivy, or Checkov
- Develop and maintain security policies as code, ensuring compliance with NEN 7510 and GDPR
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for new cloud architectures and services
- Monitor and respond to security events using Azure Sentinel and automated alerting
- Advise development teams on secure coding practices and container hardening
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in cloud security or a combined DevOps and security role
- In-depth knowledge of Azure security services (Defender, Key Vault, Policy, Entra ID)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Bicep
- Understanding of compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare or financial services
- Strong analytical and communication skills; able to translate risk into actionable guidance
