CISO

Pearson & Partners is exclusively retained to find a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a critical infrastructure operator based in Amsterdam. The organization plays an essential role in the national economy and faces an evolving threat landscape that demands mature, strategic security leadership.

As CISO, you will define and execute the organization’s information security strategy, reporting to the board of directors. You will lead a team of security professionals across governance, risk and compliance, security operations, and incident response. You will oversee the security architecture, manage relationships with regulators and national cyber authorities, and ensure compliance with sector-specific regulations including NIS2 and relevant Dutch national frameworks.

A key part of the mandate is elevating security maturity across the organization. You will drive security awareness programs, integrate security into operational technology environments, and ensure that cybersecurity investments are proportionate and defensible.

The ideal candidate has 15 or more years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. Experience in critical infrastructure sectors such as energy, water, telecom, or transport is strongly preferred. A thorough understanding of both IT and OT security challenges is essential. Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) are expected.

You are a compelling communicator who can translate technical risk into business language for board audiences. Experience navigating regulatory environments and working with government security agencies is a distinct advantage.
