Chief Technology Officer
Our client, a venture-backed B2B SaaS company in the Randstad, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead the engineering organization and drive the technology strategy through a period of rapid growth.
As CTO, you will own the technology vision, architecture decisions, and engineering execution for a platform that serves enterprise customers. You will scale the engineering team from 15 to 40+ and ensure the platform can support the company’s ambitious commercial targets while maintaining reliability and security.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and execute the technology strategy aligned with the company’s product and commercial roadmap
- Scale the engineering organization, including hiring, team structure, and engineering management practices
- Own platform architecture decisions, balancing speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and security
- Establish engineering metrics, development processes, and quality standards
- Represent technology at the board level and to enterprise customers during sales and onboarding
- Manage the technology budget and vendor relationships
Requirements:
- 12+ years in software engineering with at least 4 years in a CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent leadership role
- Track record of scaling engineering teams in a SaaS or platform company
- Deep technical background in modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems
- Experience with enterprise sales cycles and customer-facing technical leadership
- Strong communicator who can translate between business goals and engineering reality
